Previously, Hansen served as the men's basketball Video Manager for four years, Coordinator of Basketball operations for eight years, Business Development Manager for one year, and Assistant Director of Development for two years. Before the 2000-01 season, Hansen took on the role of scheduling men's basketball games for the Wildcats. He was the main contact in scheduling home and away non-conference contests through the 2009-10 season. Through his efforts, Arizona routinely played a schedule ranked among the nation's most difficult. Since taking over the scheduling duties, Arizona played 87 games against nationally ranked opponents, and met a team during the regular season that has played in the NCAA title game in six of those nine seasons. According to kenpom.com, Arizona's non-conference schedule ranked on average as the seventh toughest nationally over those nine seasons.
Prior to this basketball season, Hansen took a seat next to Brian Jeffries as the full-time color commentator for the Arizona Wildcat Radio Network for five seasons. Prior to 2004-05, he had been the color commentator on UA road games since 1997-98. The UA Athletics Department asked Hansen to step away from his radio duties to focus all of his efforts on fundraising.
Hansen graduated from Arizona with a B.S. in health-related professions in December of 1996 and earned his master's degree in educational psychology/physical education at UA in May of 2001. He and his wife, Anna, are the proud parents of two sons, Jack, born in December of 2005, and Brock, born in October of 2008.
