Erika Hanson Barnes is entering her sixth year at the University of Arizona, her first as the Associate Athletics Director for Development. She previously served as Assistant Athletics Director for Development and Assistant Director of Development, based in Phoenix. Before entering the development world, she worked in the marketing department for two years as their Marketing Associate where she oversaw the marketing efforts for women's basketball, softball, and football's Fan Fiesta.

Barnes currently oversees all the regional development efforts and specifically handles major gifts in the Phoenix area. A former softball player at Arizona who was part of the 2001 National Championship team, she graduated in 2001 with a degree in communications and a minor in American Sign Language. In addition to her Wildcat Club duties, Barnes is also in her seventh season as the color commentator for the radio broadcasts of Arizona Softball games.

In 2007, she married former Wildcat All-American golfer and current Assistant Men's Golf Coach Andy Barnes. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Phoenix Women's Sports Association.
