STARTING THIS SEASON, CHOOSE YOUR FOOTBALL SEATS AND PARKING USING INTERACTIVE MAPS
We are excited to offer improvements in service to our loyal Wildcat Club members. This year, that means allowing you to change your football season ticket seats and select your complimentary parking area (if eligible) using interactive maps online.
Football season ticket holders who renew their tickets & Wildcat Club membership by the May 1 deadline will have the opportunity to log into their account to see what seats are still available using interactive seating maps. They can check out the view from different seats, move locations and add tickets.
Most season ticket holders who are also Wildcat Club members eligible for complimentary parking (from Coaches to Golden) will choose their parking area based on eligibility and availability using an interactive map.
Those eligible for reserved space parking (Diamond and Platinum Wildcat Club Members) will still receive parking offline, for now. However, members at the Diamond and Platinum level who would like to add or upgrade seats will still need to log on to do so.
On May 11, look for an email from Arizona Athletics with a timeslot to log into the system to review your seats and select your parking.
When is the selection period?
Selection begins Tuesday, May 15 and runs through Wednesday, May 30, ending at 5 p.m. Timeslots are given between 9 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can reach someone on our staff if you have questions. Once your timeslot opens, you have from then until the end of the selection period to make your choices – 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
Who gets first pick?
Timeslots are allocated in order of benefit level and priority points, with accounts gaining access to the system approximately every two to five minutes.
What if I'm not available at my assigned time slot?
Once your timeslot opens, it is live until the system closes on May 30 at 5 p.m. However, we strongly recommend you login as close as possible to your time slot to make sure you have the most choices possible.
What if it doesn't work or I do something wrong?
Please contact your development officer if you have questions or need assistance with the process. We are happy to help walk you through it! However, we think you'll find the procedure simple and straightforward, and that you will appreciate having control to select whatever you like based on your eligibility.
I don't want to change my seat location. Do I have to login?
If you are eligible for parking, you must login to select your parking area.
If I don't login, will I still get parking?
If you are eligible for complimentary parking but do not login to select it, you will be assigned whatever parking is still available after everyone else has made their selection. We strongly encourage you to select what you would like.
Can I make changes after I've made my selections?
No. If you made a mistake and want to change your selection, please contact your development officer or McKale ticket office staff.
Make sure you get to participate in this opportunity by RENEWING TODAY!
STUDENT-ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT: CARLOS VILLARREAL, TRACK & FIELD
Carlos Villarreal, a redshirt sophomore from Rio Rico, Ariz., became a second-team All-American in the mile at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships. Villarreal clocked a pair of sub-4 minute miles in back-to-back outings earlier this season, including a personal record of 3:57.64 in the event. Earlier in his career, he set the 1500-meter freshman record with a time of 3:41.75. Villarreal is also an MPSF All-Academic team member.
What are your goals for outdoor season?
My goal for outdoor season is to become a first-team All-American at NCAAs. Hitting personal records are also important to me but the ultimate goal is to have a podium finish at NCAAs.
What can fans look forward to with Arizona Track and Field?
Our team is very young. We have many individuals who are putting in the work to do well as a team come nationals. It's very exciting to see multiple events do well and try to contribute to the team score. There is a lot of upside to our track and field team.
What makes Arizona Athletics special to you?
Arizona Athletics is special to me because of the pride that comes with wearing the A. People are proud to be Wildcats here and the support from everyone around the athletics department is second to none.
How important is the Wildcat Club's support?
The Wildcat Club's support is very important to us because we put in lots of hard work into our sport. Track and field is not the easiest sport, so to have that support from the Wildcat Club really goes a long way.
INSPIRING WOMEN SERIES EMPOWERS STUDENT-ATHLETES
Student-athletes face unique challenges. In light of that, the Inspiring Women series – created by the University of Arizona Athletics Department's C.A.T.S. Life Skills program – is dedicated to inspiring, educating and empowering student-athletes around positive body image and self-worth.The program aims to address the many facets and causes of disordered eating and feelings of inadequacy in female student-athletes through inspirational speakers, educational workshops and empowerment opportunities like posters and videos.
Since the program launched in 2017, 95 percent of participants say that they are applying elements of the series to their current experiences.
C.A.T.S. Life Skills is part of the award-winning Cedric Dempsey C.A.T.S. Program (Commitment to an Athlete's Total Success). C.A.T.S. is a comprehensive student-athlete support services platform designed to assist student-athletes based on individual needs, and to assist in developing the skills needed over time to lead a healthy, positive and productive life following graduation. Programs focus on academics, life skills, medical services, strength and conditioning, and clinical/sports psychology.
Your Wildcat Club membership helps support programs like C.A.T.S. If this is an area of particular interest to you, you can designate your donation to support these programs directly. From the University of Arizona Foundation's website, select C.A.T.S. Life Skills Donation from the list of specific Sport/Area Specific Giving.
As always, we thank you for your generous support in helping our nearly 500 student-athletes succeed on and off the playing surface.
COACHES CORNER: AUGIE BUSCH, SWIMMING & DIVING
Augie Busch was named Arizona head swimming and diving coach in July 2017. In his first season as head coach, Busch led both men's and women's swimming and diving to top-5 finishes at the Pac-12 Championships and top-20 finishes at the NCAA Championships. Eight men and eight women earned All-America honors this season, and three school records were broken.
Reflect on your first season as Head Coach.
The biggest objective this season was putting in a culture founded on such principles as unselfishness, accountability, sacrifice, hard work, and cultivating relationships between the team and coaches. I am proud to say I believe wholeheartedly that we succeeded in that area. Results were very solid, too, with our best meets coming at the right time with Conference and NCAAs.
What are the goals of the team for the offseason?
Our goals this offseason are to continue to enhance the culture and figure out ways to get better in the water. Everyone has something they need to focus on, whether it's their aerobic capacity, something about their stroke, racing best times long course, or for some even being selected to an international team for the US.
What makes Arizona Athletics so special?
What makes Arizona Athletics so special is the tremendous camaraderie that exists among the coaches. Having so many offices and facilities housed in McKale helps foster that. In a more tangible sense, what makes Arizona Athletics so special are the top-notch facilities, equipment, and financial commitment to each sport to operate a quality program.
How important is the support of the Wildcat Club?
The Wildcat Club is critical to our success as a department and as a whole. To have the means to seek out the best coaches, equipment, facility upgrades, etc., there must be active support and engagement from the Wildcat Club. Their generosity, for me at least, provides major motivation for me to provide results and a culture of which they can be proud.
As we approach the summer months, many of our student-athletes will be seeking employment opportunities in Tucson and around the country. The summer provides an excellent opportunity for student-athletes to improve their resumes and get quality experience. While it is permissible to employ student-athletes, keep in mind that they must perform the duties of the job for which they were hired, must be paid the going rate for that job and cannot receive any compensation or benefits not typically provided to other employees. In addition, any additional benefit provided to a student-athlete – or their family member or friend – could be considered an impermissible extra benefit. Some examples: free storage, free or reduced-lodging, a loan of money or free or reduced meals.
If you have questions about student-athlete employment, extra benefits or anything else, please reach out to the Arizona Athletics compliance office at (520) 621-8746 or email them at
