MORE THAN A MANTRA: KADEEM ALLEN'S PATH TO NBA DRAFT PICK
With the NBA season underway, fans of University of Arizona men's basketball may see some familiar faces. Fan favorite Kadeem Allen, now part of the Boston Celtics organization, is an especially satisfying success story. His story reminds Wildcat Club members why their support of student-athletes is so important. Read more here

BASKETBALL SEASON TICKETS, SO FLEXIBLE
Have you logged into your Arizona Athletics ticket account lately? There are numerous features available to manage your men's and women's basketball season tickets – here are just a few.

Oops, I lost my tickets.
No problem! Up until tipoff, you can log-in to “My Account” at arizonawildcats.com and resend the tickets to your Print at Home email account. There's no fee associated with reissuing your tickets using this feature and you can do it multiple times. Just remember, if you later find the missing tickets, they won't work. You must use the most recently issued tickets.

I want to transfer my tickets to someone else.
Can do! Up to two hours prior to the game, you can log in to your account and email print@home tickets to the recipient of your choice. (The recipient must also accept the transfer at least two hours prior to the event.)

Have a question about your tickets or the My Account feature? Contact the Arizona Athletics Ticket Office at 520.621.CATS (2287).

COACHES CORNER: TONY AMATO, SOCCER

In his fifth season with the Wildcats, head coach Tony Amato guided our soccer program to a fourth-place finish in the Pac-12 this season and an NCAA Tournament appearance. This is the second time in the last three years the Cats have reached the postseason, having advanced to the round of 16 in 2015.

What have fans enjoyed about the team this season?
Any good team has to have an identity and our fans have seen a fast attack. We're really good on set pieces still; we've been able to score some goals on those this season, as well as defend them. We're really good in the boxes in terms of hunting rebounds and getting on the end of crosses and finishes. We also defend well and defend hard.

What have been the keys to this successful season?
Playing well first of all, but the biggest thing has been establishing our identity. We knew we needed to play fast, execute set pieces and defend well. This has been a successful season for us.

What makes Arizona Athletics special?
The biggest thing that makes Arizona Athletics special is the people. A lot of times people get wrapped up in the campus and facilities and the hardest thing for me is to make sure our athletes get a feel for the people that we have in our department, whether it is strength and conditioning, administration or support staff. The connection to the people – and the smart people, with the mentality they have – makes this place special.

What does it mean to have the support of the Wildcat Club?
We are in a pretty big city, but the support the University receives makes it feel like a college town. The combination of the people tied to the University along with the soccer community here really goes a long way. There are a lot of block A's and soccer fans around town, and combining those two feels special.

BECOME PART OF ARIZONA ATHLETICS HISTORY
If you've been on campus for a Wildcat Club tailgate or a game in McKale Center, you've likely noticed the engraved tiles on the north side of the building. This walkway and area is called the Rocky LaRose Legacy Lane, which leads to and surrounds the Jim Click Hall of Champions, a facility that honors the greatest moments and teams in Arizona Athletics history.

You, too, have an opportunity to become a lasting part of Arizona Athletics history by purchasing a Legacy Lane tile. Tiles can be customized to recognize personal accomplishments, make a tribute to a family member, or just show your fandom! Even better, tile purchases are considered tax-deductible donations that support the Wildcat Scholarship Fund. For questions, or to purchase a Legacy Lane tile, please visit our website or call the Wildcat Club at (520) 621-2582.

STUDENT-ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT:
DEMETRIUS FLANNIGAN-FOWLES, FOOTBALL
Junior Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles is one of the stalwarts of the Arizona defense. A Tucsonan, who played his high school football at Tucson High and Mountain View, Flannigan-Fowles is the team's leading returning tackler from a year ago. He finished last season with 78 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, six pass breakups and two interceptions.

What has stood out about the 2017 Wildcats?
“Team chemistry. It's better this year, because we're young this year, and we did a good job in the summer coming together as a team and did a lot of team activities. Especially on defense, we have a lot of young talent coming in and we're learning fast, which is what you need to be a good defense. We're also stronger than we have been since I have been here.”

What have you learned from Coach Rodriguez and safeties coach Jahmile Addae?
“One thing I've learned that I can take away from both of them is giving your full effort. If you give 100 percent, you're going to be right more than you're wrong. Coach Rodriguez has taught me a lot about his sense of urgency. That has rubbed off on me, and I've taken it into my game. Coach Addae is the same way, and his sense of urgency makes me better.”

How special has it been for you to play for your home-town team?
“It's been a blessing to stay home, close to the family. Being able to see my mom and have her at all of my games; I'm very fortunate. Not a lot of people get to see their families after games. For me, it's been a complete blessing. I have about seven to 10 people at every home game cheering me on, and that just makes me play harder.”

What do you love most about game days at Arizona Stadium?
“The Wildcat Walk. Hands down. You see all your supporters waiting for you, giving you high-fives, cheering you on, it just feels really good to see all those fans out there. My first game, I was just smiling the entire time. The drive to the stadium, that's when everybody is in the zone, you're listening to your music, and you pull up and you see everybody waiting, it's just a really good vibe. It's second to none.”

What's been your most memorable game since you've been at Arizona?
“Utah my freshman year when we upset them in overtime. Nate Phillips caught that corner of the end zone pass to make us win it, and then we held it off on defense. I was in, they tried to throw a fade in the back of the end zone and we deflected in. I ran the whole 100 yards. It was the best.”

What does the Wildcat Club mean to you?
“To have such great support from our fans means a ton to us on the team. We wouldn't be playing in big stadiums and have our great facility if we didn't have support from our fans. We're very lucky.”
